Wilderness First Aid

CLASS DURATION: 5 hours Real skills for less-than-ideal situations. Designed for all skill levels, this class provides essential medical training to boost your confidence in urgent situations and outdoor survival when help is miles away. From backcountry exploration to natural disasters, you will learn to respond effectively with limited equipment. Learn life-saving techniques through practical, hands-on training and turn uncertainty into action. Class materials relating to the instruction will be provided for use during class. *This class is designed for adults but is open to high school students and older who are comfortable with an immersive 5-hour instructional and hands-on experience. **Note: This is a fully outdoor experience. Expect plenty of movement with hands-on solo and team exercises. Most training will take place in the shade, but be prepared for sunny environments as well. The site is equipped with shelter, shade, and restrooms with running water for your comfort. WHAT TO BRING: -Water for personal hydration -Light lunch (picnic-style; lunch break will be given) -Preferably wear layers: Long sleeves and pants are highly encouraged for times when we are in wooded areas. Close-toed shoes are required; wear running or hiking shoes you are comfortable in when on trails and uneven ground. -(If applicable for personal use): Epipen -(Optional): Walking/hiking poles -(If desired): Bug spray, sun screen -(Encouraged): Your personal first aid kit...should you get bites, scrapes, and the like. -(If you want to discuss or practice with items in your wilderness first aid kit, bring your kit.)
